Often, we face vacation with anticipation and wonderment….and too much baggage. Next trip, pack your bags, then make yourself leave half of what you felt you needed. Never take luggage over the size in the picture.

I travel light, but every time I come home with something I didn’t use. Always make note of that for next time.
 .
As I fly to Chicago, my friends are busy. The joys of no plan and calling last minute. I have a 24-hour layover. I will probably catch the train to wherever hostels are found downtown. With no plan, this is where the adventure begins.
 .
I’m flying Aer Lingus. Never heard of it. Who spells “air” “Aer” anyway?  I was a little concerned when they pulled the plane out of the hangar with a John Deere. But relieved to know it was a tractor company I recognized!
 .
Then it’s on to Dublin and next week Frankfurt, Germany. A boat would have been faster!
 .
The only plan is to see my son who lives in southern Germany. He’s an Airman in the Air Force. He’s anxious to see me but only has a few days before being shipped off to save the world! He says, “dad, you be ok alone”. Always a joker in the crowd.
 .
I suggest your first adventure with no plan be a weekend. Don’t try a month, Leave that to the unprofessionals!
 .
Happy trails.
